VW Cruise Control

Cruise control makes long journeys on motorways safer and more comfortable by regulating your car’s speed.

The Volkswagen cruise control system works electronically to help regulate your car’s speed. It can reduce the stress and offers some comfort on long journeys by maintaining a constant speed. It is particularly effective when you have to stay within a speed limit for an extended distance, for example, when driving through miles of roadworks on the motorway. It can reduce the risk of unintentional speeding. With the greater use of average speed camera zones on motorways it has become more important to be able to maintain a set speed.

Once activated, the system works by maintaining your selected speed. The speed can be adjusted up or down using the toggle switch at the end of the stalk to accelerate or decelerate to another selected speed. There is also the option of returning to the speed most recently set.

The cruise control system can be de-activated from the switch or by depressing the brake or clutch pedals.
